Amplify the IT Team
You Already Have.
Your internal IT person, or two-person team, knows the building, the users, and the history. We plug in around them. You keep the institutional knowledge. We add the bench strength, the after-hours coverage, and the tooling a small internal team cannot carry alone.
Built to support,
not replace.
Co-managed IT is not outsourcing. Your internal team stays in the driver's seat on day-to-day operations and the relationships that matter. We show up where the gaps are: specialist work that does not fill a full-time role, hours your team cannot cover, and enterprise-grade tooling that is hard to justify for a small internal team.
- Specialists on demand in security, cloud, networking, compliance, and applications.
- After-hours and weekend coverage so your internal team is not permanently on call.
- Access to the same NOC, service desk, RMM, and security stack we use for our fully managed clients.
- Documentation and standards that survive staff turnover.
The IT team that needs
backup, not replacement.
Co-managed is the right fit when an internal IT person is stretched thin, when growth is pushing against a one-person ceiling, or when a specific project needs hands your team does not have. Businesses with 25 to 500 users are our sweet spot.
- One- or two-person internal IT teams that cannot cover every hour or every discipline.
- Organizations with an IT manager who needs a strategic partner, not a staffing agency.
- Businesses with upcoming audits, migrations, or security initiatives that need extra capacity.
- Companies that want a planned way to offload commodity work so internal IT can focus on strategic work.

What is co-managed IT?
Co-managed IT is a partnership where a managed IT services provider works alongside your internal IT team instead of replacing it. Your team keeps day-to-day operations and the institutional knowledge of your building, your users, and your history, while the provider adds specialist depth, after-hours coverage, and enterprise-grade tooling. UOTech.co has delivered IT services this way since 2016 for businesses across Long Island, NYC, Connecticut, Hudson Valley, and New Jersey.
-
How is co-managed IT different from fully managed IT or outsourcing?
With fully managed IT the provider runs your entire IT operation, while with co-managed IT your internal team stays in the driver's seat and the provider fills specific gaps. Co-managed IT is not outsourcing. We cover specialist work that does not fill a full-time role, hours your team cannot cover, and tooling that is hard to justify for a small internal team.
-
Does co-managed IT replace our internal IT person?
No. Co-managed IT is built to support your internal team, not replace it. Your IT person keeps the day-to-day operations and the relationships that matter, and we plug in around them with bench strength, coverage, and documentation and standards that survive staff turnover.
-
What does our internal team keep, and what do we hand off?
Your internal team typically keeps day-to-day operations, user relationships, and the institutional knowledge no outside provider can match. Teams commonly hand off after-hours monitoring, patch and asset management, security monitoring, backup and disaster recovery, and line-of-business application support. Every piece of the split is scoped ahead of time and priced ahead of time, so internal IT can focus on strategic work.
-
Who handles IT issues after hours in a co-managed arrangement?
Our 24/7 network operations center (NOC) and service desk cover nights, weekends, and overflow so your internal team is not permanently on call. Your team covers business hours, and we cover everything else. You also get access to the same remote monitoring and management (RMM) and security stack we run for our fully managed clients, including endpoint detection and response (EDR), email, and identity monitoring.
Your IT person is great.
Let's give them backup.
